The name Crianlarich comes from Gaelic meaning 'low pass' and is famous as a West Highland Way stop off point. Whether you’re here to climb one of the many surrounding 'munros' or make it your base for Scotland's lowland sights, Glenbruar offers all that the weary traveller requires from evening meals to walkers' pick up/drop offs. Our bedrooms are tastefully decorated and have en- suite facilities.

Coming from Glasgow you approach south along the banks of Loch Lomond, a popular spot and must see for the first time visitor. From Stirling via Callander you approach Crianlarich from the east, along Glen Dochart. Situated in Bonny Strathyre, the first village of the Highlands of Scotland, the Ben Sheann Hotel is a superb base for a touring/activity holiday or a stop-over while walking the Rob Roy Way. It is a traditional Victorian house which was turned into a Hotel in the 1940's and offers a variety of comfortable rooms including single, double and family, 8 of which are en-suites. The hills and mountains in the area provide ample scope for hill walking and climbing, from leisurely woodland strolls to mountaineering! There are, of course, many Munros in the area for you to bag! Strathyre is a superb location for hillwalking at all levels of difficulty, from a gentle stroll on the shores of Loch Lubnaig to a vigorous hike to the summit of Ben Ledi.
