A warm welcome awaits you at this elegant Victorian home located in the picturesque town of Lostwithiel, now the antiques capital of Cornwall and the perfect base to explore both the south and north coasts and Bodmin Moor. It retains a wealth of original features, including fireplaces in most large rooms, chandeliers, high ceilings and stained glass windows. Although Penrose is elegant and grand, when you walk in you will find a homely atmosphere and personal, friendly service.
 Altogether, we offer 4 family bedrooms and 2 double bedrooms all with en-suite facilities, plus a small, cosy twin room with private bathroom. The luxury family room includes a double sleigh bed, double sofa bed, traditional fireplace, coffee table and comfy armchairs within a large bay window with great views over Lostwithiel. Redgate Smithy B&B has been awarded AA Four Stars within the new higher quality NQAS requirements for B&B Guest Accommodation.

A 200 years old converted Smithy and a friendly, welcoming AA Four Star B&B situated just above the beautiful Golitha Falls on the southern edge of Bodmin Moor. Our local village of St.Cleer is very close to Siblyback Lake and the Cornish Mining World Heritage Site around Minions. Birds and wildlife abound on and around the moor and there is excellent walking locally on the moor or the Copper Trail and on the coast. There are also riding and fishing facilities locally. The area is rich in 19thC industrial archaeology including extensive mining remains up on the moor, the Wheal Victoria Copper Mine down by Golitha Falls and remains of the fascinating Liskeard and Caradon Railway.
We have a lovely woodland garden for guests' use, a patio and other seating areas, a large conservatory and comfortable beamed, well equipped cottage-style bedrooms. All are en-suite or with private bathroom. There is a full breakfast menu, using local produce and prepared on the range, which is served in the light and airy conservatory overlooking the garden.
