Best Walks - Solva to Broad Haven - 12 miles (19.3 km)
Introduction to the Walk
This is the seventh day of The Pembrokeshire Coast Path, and will take you along the famous and beautiful Newgale Sands, as well as a selection of other lesser known but equally stunning beaches, before heading into the small coastal village of Broad Haven
There is parking at both Solva and Broad Haven, therefore it is completely up to you which place you would prefer to start from and which direction to walk. However, do remember that since this is a linear route you will need to have planned how to return to your car once the walk in complete, unless you will be continue on further along the coastal path afterwards.
First make your way out of Solva; from the main car park simply follow the nation long distance trail sign (the acorn) on to the coastal path. Once on the coastal path you will soon pass the fascinating spur of land called Dina Fawr and gain great views of Dinas Fach.
As you continue along the coastal path, Newgale Sands will soon appear in sight, carefully descend down towards this fantastic beach. Once you reach the road you will need to follow the road (or walk along the beach itself), past the large car park and toilet block, then past another large carpark. Do not be tempted to take the path off to the left here, you will need to continue further on down the road. Do note, that there are no sign posts at this point, just keep following the minor single track road as it starts to ascend uphill away from the beach, not long after is a small layby, and the coastal path goes off to the right (marked with a sign for the coastal path).
Continue along the coastal path and head to Nolton Haven,, you will be on the road for a very short section of the village before joining back on to the coastal path at the top of the cliffs. You will soon pass both Madocís Haven and Druidston Haven, before you can make out your destination of Broad Haven. Keep heading along the coastal path towards the sandy beach of Broad Haven itself.
